Barbra Streisand Tickets Will Not Be Honored

More than a thousand tickets to the famous Barbra Streisand`s upcoming national concert tour was sold on the internet to people who used stolen credit card information. According to the concert`s national promoter, those tickets, which have turned up for sale on various Internet resale sites, have been invalidated and may not be honored.

A stolen credit-card number can be used until it is reported stolen and the report is processed through the Ticketmaster system. When people with the invalid tickets try to get into the concert, they may be stopped at the door. The Barbra Streisand tour has been subjected to an "unusually high number of incidents of fraud," Ticketmaster, the ticket services firm said. Ticketmaster, owned by InterActiveCorp, has set up a Web site listing Streisand tickets that have been cancelled.

Sean Moriarty, president and chief operating officer of Ticketmaster, said in a statement: "We are working closely with law enforcement to identify the source of this fraud and prosecute to the full extent of the law". The national concert promoter, Michael Cohl of CPI Concerts, warned that tickets bought through resale sites may not be honored, and recommended that tickets be purchased from venue box offices or through Ticketmaster.
