You tube marking the future path for online advertising


You tube has launched an innovative advertising scheme featuring online video billboards to provide marketers and businesses with new strategies to attract consumers, available on the You Tube site. You Tube`s new developments do not require any special technology or equipment but uses the traditional online advertising approaches in a more creative way.

Warner Bro.Records from Warner Music Group Corp. were the first to use this service to promote Paris Hilton`s debut Album "Paris" through the brand channel, which proved a worth while investment. Paris` video has been rated thousands of times and commented upon by hundreds of viewers in a matter of hours. 12 hours following its upload, the video attracted nearly 160,000 viewers. EMarketer estimates that the online advertising budget, which this year stands on $16.7 billion, is expected to balloon up to twice the amount it is now by 2010.

This branded content channel is where advertisers customize their space on You Tube in order to attract online users with contests and videos. Some channels have the option of operating as Television, including advertisers that sponsor the programs. You Tube`s new concept of "Participatory video ads" feature one video ad a day through the home page of the company`s website. Viewers have the option to play judge by rating the ads, commenting, sharing it with others or even embedding it inside their own videos.
