New Gateway Solution for Small Businesses

New network gateway targeted at small businesses was released by TrustELI this week. The new gateway will provide multiple combined security functions, and is offered in two modes. A consumer version for the home user looking for a better security solution, and an enhanced version for small businesses. The new gateway will protect all devices on the network regardless of their operating system.

Eli is targeted to homes/mobile workers and now small businesses, and provides multiple combined security capabilities implemented at the network gateway. In fact, the device operates as the network gateway itself, serving as a combined DSL modem, 802.11b/g Wireless Router, and a four port switch in a single appliance. Customers pay both for the appliance itself and ongoing managed services provided by the vendor, which include automated updates to the signatures/URL lists used in the appliance`s security services, dynamic policy management, automatic firewall firmware updates, access to a client resource portal, service level agreements, and 7x24x365 access to certified security staff.

Key features and capabilities of both devices include: Firewall, Anti-Virus, Content filtering, anti-spam, anti-phishing, spyware/malware protection, and privacy protection. The newer small business version of the appliance adds VPN capabilities, including support for DES, 3DES, and AES encryption, and MD5 and SHA-1, manual key, PIKE, and PKI authentication, and logging/monitoring capabilities. Eli is available now. The consumer version is base priced at $199.99, with managed services starting at $9.99/month, while the small business version starts at $249.99, with the managed services starting at $19.99 per month.
