Global Widgets - New Management Tool

GPI, or Globalization Partners International, is a provider of software, website, and documentation globalization services. Recently, this well-known company announced its launch of Global Widgets, a widget-based informational website which provides access to various kinds of information, ranging from news to weather to converters. Martin Spethman, Managing Partner with Globalization Partners International, said, `GPI initially designed and developed Global Widgets as an internal project management tool to help schedule global conference calls, track global events and holidays, and make common conversions.` When a user visits Global Widgets for the first time, there is a default collection of Global Widgets information widgets displayed. Without registering or downloading anything, the user is free to add, move, and remove any of the widgets available, making Global Widgets an ideal launch pad for any company doing business from coast to coast or around the world. `We wanted something web-based as opposed to OS-based, so it could be accessed from any where, at any time,` said Mariano Drzazga, GPI`s Global IT Manager. `The recent widget phenomenon has shown that users are embracing the use of widgets in order to place specific information they need daily at their fingertips. Global Widgets is entirely web-based and anyone with a browser and Internet access can set up their own Global Widgets site.`
