New Musical Game from Gibson Guitar

Gibson Guitar has joined forces with Harmonix and RedOctane to create a new musical game. The game includes musical simulation and is called `Guitar Hero`, reports Billboard. The game will be introduced on November 1st for the PlayStation 2 Entertainment System. The object of the game: for players to guide characters through a series of live performances in venues that grow in size as the characters` careers grow.

The aim is to play along to over 30 licensed rock songs in the game using a customized guitar-based controller developed jointly by Gibson and RedOctane. According to Billboard, the `guitar` controller sports a five-button fret board, a switch used for strumming and other peripherals like a whammy bar. The companies tried to add as many physical characteristics to the contoller as they could.

Players will have to select the appropriately colored button on the fret board that matches the prompts in the game along to the rhythm of the song. Songs in the game contains Boston`s `More Than a Feeling`, Jimi Hendrix`s `Spanish Castle Magic`, Franz Ferdinand`s `Take Me Out`, and the Donnas` `Take It Off`. Now anyone can be a guitar star!
