Nobel Prize Awarded for Optic Technology Advancement

According to the Associated Press, the Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to American scientists John L. Hall and Roy J. Glauber and German scientist Theodor W. Haensch. Their work in the optic technology field was remarkable, thorough, and enlightening to the science world.

The prize was given for their separate, yet similar work in advancing optic technology to make lasers, GPS technology and other methods more accurate and concise in their readings. Of the six Nobels, the physics prize has the broadest scope of research.

The assembly said Glauber was awarded half of the Prize for his theoretical description of the behavior of light particles. Hall and Haensch share the other half of the Prize for their development of laser-based precision spectroscopy.
