Fire, Theft, and Flooding Withstood by Disaster Ready Drive

Now there is a new drive which can withstand fire, theft, and even flooding. ioSafe, the creator of the Disaster Ready Drive, has made headlines with its new, innovative product. The USB extension cables included allows for the physical placement of the drives up to 800 feet away. The drives resemble mini-tower PC case designs, are offered in 200, 300, and 400 GB capacities, and attach to the host computers via USB 2.0 or Firewire connections.

ioSafe`s Disaster Ready Drive is an external hard drive (attaches via USB 2.0 or Firewire) that is specifically designed to withstand natural disasters including fire, flood, theft, and building collapse. The units are enclosed in a specially designed steel case and ship with a 3 year disaster assistance warranty from the vendor (5 year protection is optional).

ioSafe personnel will assist in the recovery of data from the drive as well, and, if necessary, provide a replacement drive with the restored data. This could potentially mean paying up to $5,000 for the recovery of data from the drive (see vendor for warranty details). The vendor does not, of course, guarantee the recoverability of the data itself.
