Electronic Arts and Nettwerk Join Forces

The leading video game publish, Electronic Arts Inc., has recently announced a partnership with Nettwerk Music Group. The two media giants plan to introduce a digital music distribution label named EA Recordings. The two companies are looking to forge into the future of music media, and offer a variety of different products in the field.

EA says that the Nettwerk partnership matches its Next Level Music collaboration with Cherry Lane Music Publishing. The company signs artists and licenses EA music for television, movies and commercials. According to Reuters, the Nettwerk agreement will concentrate on direct-to-consumer online music sales.

EA Recordings will offer clips from EA`s catalog of music and remixes to online download services, including Apple Computer Inc.`s iTunes, RealNetworks Inc.`s Rhapsody and those operated by Yahoo Inc. and Microsoft Corp.`s MSN Internet service.
