IBM And Google Collaborate

IBM and Google Inc. have joined forces to help office workers search local documents, corporate databases and personal e-mail. The two companies are prepared to merge IBM`s OmniFind corporate search system to Google`s free desktop search. This will help business users find information through an organized system.

David Girouard, general manager of Google`s enterprise business unit, says, `Getting these two products together makes sense for both of us. If you want to have a good corporate search product, you have to have a desktop search.` Through the partnership, Google has IBM`s endorsement among corporate technical managers for its desktop search product, and IBM gives corporate information workers access to back-office databases through Google`s search.

With the advancements in technology today, many leading companies are forming partnerships for their own benefit, as well as that of their customers. Bringing the best of both worlds to clients is something many companies are trying to accomplish. IBM and Google seem to have done so successfully.
