Human Capital Institute and Ernst & Young Conduct Survey

A professional association and educator in talent management strategies, The Human Capital Institute (HCI), and Ernst & Young have recently announced that the two will conduct a study and survey to determine what measures employers are taking in responding to the aging of their workforces, and if at all, they are responding. Ernst and Young is a leading international tax and consulting firm. The results will be released in late January, 2006, in a report by the Ernst & Young/Human Capital Institute Aging Workforce Survey.

The Ernst & Young/Human Capital Institute Aging Workforce Survey, which is being administered by ExecuNet, focuses on such issues as whether employers are identifying older workers who possess `business wisdom` and may also be retiring from their organizations within the next five to 10 years. Retention programs aimed at older worker and pre-retirement programs are among other key survey areas.

`As the workforce ages, there are new challenges for organizations,` said Allan Schweyer, HCI`s Executive Director. `This survey and resulting report will provide insight into how organizations are addressing the various issues unique to older workers and help businesses make better decisions with regard to this important and growing segment of the workforce.`
