Osmose Utilities Expands

Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. opened their newest office in Syracuse on December 6th, 2005. The event was celebrated with a luncheon for employees and an invitation-only opportunity for local media to learn more about this successful company. Larry Larson, Company President, and Sr. Vice President for Technology Tom Petrik hosted the event.

`This is a wonderful day for everybody at Osmose Utilities Services because our need for larger office space is a result of the great work done by all of our employees, especially those in Syracuse, and our ability to help customers in new and different ways,` said Larson.

`We`d been in our previous office for more than 10 years,` said Tom Petrik. `And we got to the point where our customers? needs literally outgrew the space we were in. Moving out of Syracuse was never an option for us because this community has everything we need - good access to other major cities, a large pool of talented workers, and very solid local and regional leadership.` Osmose acquired Syracuse-based Coherent Networks in 2003 after several joint projects revealed the value of integrating Coherent?s robust software and data-processing services with Osmose`s trusted name and wide customer base. Since that acquisition, the Syracuse-based Technology and Data Services Group has grown from 35 employees to more than 85. Today, Syracuse is Osmose`s `home base` for software and technology development. It is also the place where Osmose technicians process and validate data collected on utility systems in all 50 states. This high-quality data is then sent back to customers for use in Outage Management, Work Management and Engineering Management Systems.
