1&1 Announces More for your Money
1&1 Internet, Inc. has recently implemented a new marketing tactic since its appearance in the U.S. market less than 18 months ago. The company has announced that it will radically increase the amount and assortment of standard features offered with its domain registration packages without increasing prices. Customers will even be able to get all of 1&1`s numerous domain features for free just by signing up for its shared hosting packages according to Andreas Gauger, Chairman of the Board for 1&1. These all include up to five complimentary domain registrations.
Users can now register a domain with 1&1 for as low as $5.99 per year and receive a number of features that routinely cost extra, such as private domain registration, a 1GB email account and a free starter page, and others for free. The value-added domain packages will be 1&1`s standard offering, not a limited time promotion. The company aims to expand upon the 5 million-plus domains it has already registered.
`We want to change the domain registration market the way we changed the Web hosting market--with competitive pricing and inclusive packages,` said Gauger. `We`re offering a lot of things that most other companies charge extra for, because we firmly believe in providing the most value for the money.`
To emphasize this value, 1&1 will draw direct comparisons to its biggest competitors `Go Daddy` and `Yahoo!` in advertising and marketing campaigns supporting the new features and unchanged pricing. Print advertisements include a chart offering a side-by-side summary of the prices and features associated with three companies .com, .net. and .org domain packages clearly indicating that 1&1 offers the most features for the lowest price.
`You can`t make it any clearer than that,` Gauger said. `Our customers and potential customers will be able to see for themselves that 1&1 is the best choice.`
