on-IDLE Guest Speak at Interact1 Communications Design Seminar



In a tie-in to its 5th birthday year and new website launch, on-IDLE the design and web development agency is speaking at the Interact1 Conference The London College of Communication is hosting a series of seminars that compliment the recently opened exhibition at the Barbican Art Gallery, Communicate: Independent British Graphic Design since the Sixties

World-renowned author, and organiser Bob Cotton explains, Interact1 aims to indicate and explore the range of opportunities open to designers and content makers in the rapidly converging world that we inhabit.

Managing Director and co-founder of on-IDLE Ltd, An-Mari Peter, will be speaking at 4pm at the Interact 1 seminar on Wednesday, the 22nd of September 2004 at the LCC. The seminar, which is sponsored by Sony PlayStation 2, covers the theme New Directions in Communications Design, of which the directions include: interactive television, mobile applications, usability, online gaming, data-visualisation and content management systems.

An-Mari Peter will be looking at the capabilities of Flash MX and how it integrates today with databases and other technologies such as XML and PHP Peter explains, Today you can have fully dynamic, usability compliant, yet seamlessly interactive and beautifully designed interfaces. Design should not be compromised because of usability and content management requirements. Web-technology is no longer necessarily ugly.

The seminar is also being used by on-IDLE (http://www.on-idle.com) as a platform to launch its new website, which has been a while in the making due to a very successful 2004. The company is also celebrating its 5th birthday year and embarking on an active PR campaign.
