Boxer Mike Tyson Busted for Drug Possession

Former heavyweight champion boxer, Mike Tyson, was arrested over the weekend for driving under the influence and possession of cocaine. Tyson admitted to the arresting officer that he had a drug problem and did not resist arrest. He has been released without bail while his case is pending, on condition that he does not drink alcohol or take non-prescription drugs during this period.

Early Friday morning, Mike Tyson left a nightclub and ran a stop sign, almost hitting a police car driven by an officer on special holiday duty. Thankfully, the officer was alert and managed to evade an accident. The policeman reported that Tyson allegedly wiped a white substance from his BMW?s console as he saw his approaching. Two packets of cocaine were found in his back pocket and he submitted to a field sobriety test without any resistance. Tyson was subsequently arrested and placed in an isolated cell for fear of his personal safety from other locked up prisoners.

This is definitely not the first time that Tyson has had a run in with the law. He has been arrested several times for aggressive behavior and has even served time for rape. In 1997, Tyson bit the ear of an opponent while fighting him in a boxing ring. Tyson seems to have a problem controlling his violent temper and has not successfully managed the fame and attention that goes with being the youngest heavyweight champion in the world.
