Man U now up by six points
The scores from the weekend matches of the English Premier League were practically identical to last week`s. This, naturally, not in Chelsea`s favor. Fulham`s Carlos Bocanegra tied the score at Chelsea with six minutes remain to set the final score at 2-2. The defending champion Chelsea was ahead on a goal from Didier Drogba, his 20th this season, but settled deeper in second place after losing 2 points.
Leading in the title race, six points ahead of Chelsea is Manchester United. Like last week, they scored 3 goals for a win, two from Cristiano Ronaldo who has six goals in the last three games. Manchester United has now 53 points, compared to 47 from Chelsea. Arsenal who was third has fallen even further to fifth place after losing 1-0 at Sheffield United.
Chelsea`s defense is missing goalkeeper Petr Cech, injured skipper John Terry and playmaker Joe Cole with a fractured foot. Their race for a third straight title and Mourinho`s ninth title is hanging on Drogba`s performances. "To win matches at the moment we have to score three times. Sometimes you do it, sometimes you don`t," Mourinho said.
