Formula 1 Season Opens
The fear that the biggest news for the new, 2007 Formula 1 season will be the absence of Michael Schumacher who has retired is done with on the eve of the season opening race. The season is shaping up to be as interesting and entertaining as ever, experts say. Other still hold that the expected will happen and the Ferrari team will win, with McLaren and Renault chasing it from second and thirds places.
So which is it ? interesting or not? Some experts say the absence of Schumacher will open up the race. Uniform tires ? Bridgestone is the only manufacturer ? puts back the human element in the races. Alonso switching teams, joining McLaren, leaves the question how he will cope up for grabs. Ferrari is said to keep its strengths, as does Toyota, although their good cars will be driven by so-so drivers, Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli. But with the awesome presence of Schumacher out of the way, the young drivers will have a good chance and a good feeling in racing for the championship.
On the other end, some experts think the missing star power of Schumacher will be missed from the race tracks. It is down to the remaining competitors to keep the sport in the headlines and in fans? interest as they race their cars to the finish line. If this is possible we will all see for ourselves starting this week and for the months to follow.
