Dallas wins game, loses T.O.
Drew Bledsoe threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns, as Dallas beat Washington 27-10, but lost wide receiver Terrell Owens due to a broken right ring finger. Owens, in his home debut, caught only three passes for 19 yards before leaving the game. He was X-rayed during the game and is expected to have surgery and be out for 2-to-4 weeks. Fortunately for Dallas, they have a bye week before playing at Tennessee October 1.
In spite of the loss of T.O., quarterback Drew Bledsoe completed 19-of-38 passes. Terry Glenn had six catches for 94 yards and a touchdown for Dallas (1-1). The team`s second half 99 yard drive for a touchdown helped them clinch the win. It is the Cowboys` 15th victory over Washington in the last 18 meetings. Unlike Bledsoe, Redskins quarterback Mark Brunell did not enjoy such a fine game, as he was sacked six times.
Owens, after being suspended or inactive for the final nine games of the 2005 season playing with the Eagles, had missed almost all of training camp and preseason games with the Cowboys due to a hamstring injury. His first appearance for the Cowboys, last week in Jacksonville, was more successful with 6 catches for 80 yards and a score. ?I feel like I?m a quick healer,? Owens said. ?It?s a simple procedure. I?ll bounce back.?
