Cowboys lose, but the story is all T.O.

In one of the NFL`s most significant moves of the off-season, the Dallas Cowboys signed wide receiver Terrell Owens to a three-year, $25 million contract. A high-profile career and rocky final season with the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as an ailing left hamstring that caused him to miss much of the pre-season training camp, have kept alive the question: Will Owens blow up another team or blow out on the field?

The Cowboys hope Owens will be making headlines this season, but no one is sure if these would involve on-field performance or the stuff reality-television is made of. In the season-opener at Jacksonville, Owens gave a positive indication with 6 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown, in the Cowboys 24-17 loss to the host Jaguars. In the game, Owens displayed the power and elusiveness that made him one of the NFL?s best receivers.

"I don`t like coming in and starting with a loss, but by no means are we down on ourselves," said Owens. The Cowboys` $25 million investment (some would say gamble) seems to be worth every penny, with such off-field comments and on-field performances by the wide-receiver. Now the Cowboys are left waiting for the season`s first win.
