FIA Announces Formula 1 Schedule for 2007
Formula One`s calendar of 2007 is going to be a less busy one. After losing a race in 2005 and going from 19 to 18 races, the governing body announced that another race will be missed and the number of races that will take place in 2007 is currently 17. Both Italy and Germany lost one of their two races in a decision approved by the World Motor Sports Council of the International Automobile Federation.
Although Italy`s and Germany`s races will be missed, the Belgian Gran Prix is coming back this year after a one-year absence. The announcement did not specify anything about the circuits and there are many unanswered questions. Germany has two tracks that were used for Formula 1 races, and it is unclear whether Hockenheim or the Nuerburgring would host the event.
The season will begin on March 18 in Australia, as previously announced by the federation. The Malaysia and Bahrain races will be conducted on April 8 and 15. Spain will be visited on May 13. The US race, still in doubt, will be held on June 17. France and Britain toured in July. Turkey, Italy, and Belgium will take place on August 6, September 9, and September 16. China and Japan on September 30, and October 7 and the final race will end in Brazil.
