Is it Time for Beck to Move on?
Sporting experts are predicting that British soccer icon, David Beckham should consider moving on to the next phase in his colorful career. Although still a phenomenal player, recent events in Beckham?s soccer landscape have caused analysts to admit that the player might be ready to move onto greener (North American) pastures. In fact, many say that now is as good a time as ever for the United States Major Soccer League to sign Beckham on.
31-year old Beckham, has seen a number of changes in his career of late. England?s crushing defeat in the World Cup event caused Beckham to step down as captain of the English Team and he was dropped from his country?s national team. Another reason to consider why Beckham is ready to move on is the fact that his team coach, Real Madrid?s Fabio Capello, removed him from the starting lineup.
Although Beckham?s present career looks to be on a downward spiral, he still enjoys idol status in his home country, and around the world. Beckham is the second highest paid soccer player (after Ronaldinhio) in the world and his marriage to ex-Spice Girl?s Posh only contributes to his Golden Boy image. Experts feel that should Beckham make a move to MLS while he is still relatively in his prime, he might enjoy many years of successful soccer playing, spurred on by enthusiastic North American soccer fans and companies who are already fighting each other in a bid to become his official sponsor.
