T.O. frustrated with own stats, team record

The Dallas Cowboys are 2-2 so far this season, and their star receiver, signed over the summer to a $25 million contract has only one touchdown, and 232 yards. These reasons are enough for Terrell Owens to lash out with frustration. "Why am I here?" he said after Sunday`s loss to his former team Philadelphia Eagles, and is repeating it throughout the week. "Why am I here?"

Speaking to reporters in the Cowboys` locker room, T.O. avoided any direct criticism of quarterback Drew Bledsoe or coach Bill Parcells, the playbook or the play calling. He just wants the ball more. Indeed, Owens` personal statistics so far make for his fewest catches after four games since 1999, fewest yards at this point since 2002, and longest TD drought since 2000 with three games without a score.

The Houston Texans will try to capitalize on the commotion stirred by T.O. Dallas owner Jerry Jones might be happy with his decision bringing Owens to the team, as the Cowboys receive more press than perhaps any other team in the league, in spite of a mediocre 2-2 record, meaning a good business move. But unless the team starts connecting, this year might keep the Cowboys out of the playoffs, again. And in Owens` own words: "We`re just not connecting."
