T.O. return to Philly unimpressive
Terrell Owens would have loved to be on the receiving end of one of Donovan McNabb`s two touchdown passes. A share of the Eagles quarterback`s 354 yards would also be welcome. Instead, T.O. had only three receptions for a total of 45 yards for his Dallas Cowboys in a losing effort Sunday to the Philadephia Eagles.
To drive the point even deeper, the receivers expected by the Eagles to step up this year and fill in Owens` shoes - Hank Baskett and Reggie Brown ? caught the game`s most important passes and were responsible for 191 yards together. Their two TDs carried the Eagles to a 38-24 victory. Baskett`s 87-yard bomb gave his team a 24-21 lead midway through the third quarter. Brown broke a 24-24 tie with a 40-yard scoring catch with 9:13 remaining in the game.
"They were fairly focused on taking him out of it," Bledsoe said of the Eagles coverage of T.O. The Eagles pass coverage against him was indeed tight. Bledsoe through in his direction nine passes in the game, of which he caught only three. But the real credit belongs to Philly`s pass rush against Bledsoe. The QB was sacked seven times for 49 yards, and hit at least twice that much.
