Haynesworth apologizes
It would be reasonable for Dallas Cowboys center Andre Gurode to try and avoid Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth. Last time the two men met was Sunday in the game between their two teams. Haynesworth stomped on Gurode`s face with his cleats, after kicking off his helmet. Haynesworth reached Gurode on the phone on Wednesday, after spending hours dialing his number and trying to reach him. He apologized for attacking him.
While Gurode needed 30 stitches, Haynesworth was suspended for five games without pay by the NFL ? the longest punishment in the league for on-field behavior. The tackle is not planning an appeal and intends to sit out the suspension, although it is not yet clear whether Gurode, whose vision is still blurry, would press charges. The NFL players union is also studying the incident and the suspension.
Already on Sunday, after the game ended with a Cowboys victory 45-14, Haynesworth said: ?For what I did, whatever they give me, I deserve it. I did it, and it?s wrong.? His agent said the purpose of the phone conversation between the two players was to apologize. After offering his apology to Gurode, Haynesworth is now planning a press conference to talk about his behavior and clear the air with the fans and media as well.
