Title contenders Man U and Chelsea draw

The much anticipated soccer match between first place Manchester United and third place Chelsea, separated by only three points in the Premiership league rankings, ended with a 1-1 draw. Manchester United went ahead with a goal by French striker Louis Saha in the first half, but chelsea`s Ricardo Carvalho equalized in the second half with a header deflected by Saha.

The first half was dominated by Manchester, who overall was more appealing and entertaining, while the second half was dominated by Chelsea, who played a more gritty game and deservingly equaled the score. The tense rivalry between the richest clubs in England was not decided Sunday, and another "game of the Season" will be played later in the year.

The draw ended the United`s seven straight wins run. Sir Alex Ferguson was not disappointed, though, saying "I am pleased at the performance and the effort they made." Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was also less vocal than usual, putting it simply by saying "I think the game was easy to comment on, Manchester United were best in the first half, Chelsea in the second."
