Favre to start Monday night at Seattle
Last Sunday, in a shut-out loss to the New England Patriots at home, Brett Favre left the game with a nerve injury to his right elbow. He sat out the entire second half, and it was doubtful whether he will be cleared to start next game, on Monday. But as sure as snow in Wisconsin, Favre will make his 252nd straight start when the Green Bay Packers take the field in Seattle.
Favre`s status was `questionable` earlier in the week, but he is now listed as `probable`. He has practiced and thrown the ball on Friday and Saturday, after holding out of practice ion Wednesday. The Packers signed Todd Bouman as Favre`s backup. Bouman will be ready to step in and lead the team`s offense in case Favre`s throwing hand bothers him. Aaron Rodgers, the former backup quarterback suffered a season-ending injury on Sunday after he replaced Favre.
Green Bay (4-6) will meet the Seattle Seahawks (6-4) Monday night. The Packers are underdogs entering the game, although Seattle will miss quarterback Matt Hasselebeck and running back Shaun Alexander. Both teams lost last week, with the Seahawks falling to the San Francisco 49ers, who is one game behind them in the NFC West conference.
