Sacked Cyclist, Jan Ullrich, Looking for a New Team

. After Spanish police implicated Ullrich in their investigation into the use of blood-boosting drugs by athletes, the T-Mobile Team fired the cyclist. Although Ullrich is no longer part of the Spanish investigation, he is still under investigation by German authorities.

German prosecutors raided the homes of Ullrich and other people involved in the Spanish dope incident in September. Ullrich was honeymooning at the time of the raid and left his lawyers to handle the legal issues. In a drug scandal that exploded earlier this year in Spain, Ullrich and several others were alleged to have been given a human growth hormone and EPO, a blood-boosting drug, by the head of the drug ring, Dr. Eufemiano Fuentes. Ullrich?s official website stated that he was no longer under investigation by the Spanish and Swiss police.

Ullrich has continuously denied any involvement in the drug incident and said that he did not even know Dr. Fuentes. Since he was dropped from the T-Mobile Team, Ullrich has been cycling three hours a day to keep himself fit and hopes that he will join a team in the near future. It has been rumored that the Italian team, Tinkoff, have offered Ullrich a place for next season on the second tier continental circuit.
