Cowboys Assistant Suing McDonalds for Dead Rat in Salad
Todd Haley, passing games coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, is suing McDonalds on behalf of his wife and au pair after the two claimed that they ate from a salad containing a dead rat and became violently ill after doing so. Haley filed a lawsuit in a state district court and is seeking $1.7-million in damages.
The lawsuit states that Haley?s wife, Christine who is a nursing mother, and their live-in au pair, Katherine Kelley stopped by their local suburban McDonalds to pick up take-away salads. When they reached home, they started to eat from the salad before finding, to their horror, a six-inch juvenile roof rat lying on its back with its mouth open. A call to the branch of McDonalds brought the manager to their home, but, according to Haley, he was not able to ?offer any comfort?. Haley?s wife and Kelly subsequently became ill and, according to them, suffered long-lasting physical injuries. Christine Haley also needed to give up nursing her baby and feed it formula, due to her illness.
This incident is just another in a series of bad things happening to Todd Haley. Earlier this month, he was involved in a much-publicized shouting match with NFL Dallas Cowboys player, Terrell Owens who was seen screaming at Haley on the sideline. They have since tried to put the incident behind them and stated that there was ?mutual respect? between the two.
