Ronaldo Answers Critics

When sports fans get together and start talking, they can be worse then a pack of sewing old ladies. Rumors are the fuel on the sports fire and every sports fan loves sports rumors and hearsays. The Brazilian star striker, Ronaldo, has decided to fight off all rumors regarding his alleged weight problem, and addressed the media about the issue. Ronaldo says that continued speculation about his weight is not true, and comes from lack of knowledge and distorting media.

"It doesn`t bother me in the slightest," said Ronaldo. "I think it`s all down to a lack of knowledge. After all, what is fat," he said, "People have been talking about it for so long that nowadays I just take it as a joke. Nobody ever takes about exact numbers, about the percentage of fat. It is down to a lack of knowledge, a lack of information and a lack of something better to talk about." The player had a very unpleasant season at Real Madrid, with multiple small injuries that clouded his performance for the Spanish team.

The 29-year-old player has not played a competitive match since April 8, but will open for Brazil on their opening Group F match on June 13 against Croatia. "This is like a pre-season for me, I`m coming back from injury, and I haven`t played for one and a half months," he said. "I`m very happy and I`m getting on with my job."
