Many Winners at the F1 Monaco Grand Prix
There were a lot of winners at the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday. Fernando Alonso, who won the race, was clearly the obvious winner, but there were a few others that were smiling when the race was over. Renault team`s boss, Flavio Briatore, was also grinning to see his driver take the first place in Monaco, and even Michael Schumacher was pretty happy with his sixth place, after leaping from the last place. However, Dietrich Mateschitz was the clear winner of Sunday`s race.
Mateschitz owns the successful Red Bull drinks franchise and two of the less accomplished F1 teams. Mateschitz is the only person in the entire sport that is managing two teams. Mateschitz has spent millions of dollars on development and purchase for his teams, and David Coulthard`s third-place finish in Monaco was a brilliant surprise for Mateschitz. Coulthard`s finish made Mateschitz a very happy person. This new standing might mean that Mateschitz`s efforts and hard-earned cash that was invested in the sports is already paying off.
If you were surprised to see Michael Schumacher smiling after taking the sixth place for Ferrari, then you should take a look at the qualifying race for Monaco, were Schumacher scored the fastest time, but was lowered to the last place after trying a dirty stunt that stopped other drivers from trying to outdo him.
