Bonds Breaks Babe Ruth Home Run Record
Barry Bonds smashes Babe Ruth`s record and hits his 715th home run on Sunday. Bonds couldn`t hoped for a better occasion for his record breaking home run and accomplishes it in San Francisco in front of a loving home crowed. Although Bonds broke Ruth`s record, he still has one more record to break before becoming an all time record owner.
Hank Aaron still holds the long-standing record of 755 home runs ? a record that seems to be impossible to break. Bonds feel that ""If you keep playing long enough anything is possible." However, health issues slowly affect the 41-year-old player. Bonds underwent three different operations on his right knee and was limited to 14 games during last year`s season. The player is also in the center of a steroid use scandal, although he has always denied knowingly taking steroids.
Another winner of the historical day was the San Francisco resident Andrew Morbitzer. The 38-year-old Morbitzer was sitting in the crown when Bonds hit his record-breaking home run, and was lucky enough to collect the ball. "I got to be a small part of a big day," said Morbitzer, a marketing director and newlywed who brought his bride, Megan, a small piece of history.
