Brazilian Coach Takes Different Approach Towards Training Matches

In the few weeks prior to June 9, most teams that are participating in this year`s World Cup in Germany are focused on training matches. Coaches want to test their teams ability to the very end, and real matches against serious opponents is the best way of doing so. Training matches place the players in the right state of mind for the upcoming challenge, and both teams benefit from the event.

Carlos Alberto Parreria, the Brazilian coach, is taking a completely different approach towards training matches. Alberto Parreria is saying that his focus is on the actual training and not on the games. If he wanted the Brazilian team to face serious world-class opposition he would have arranged it, but he prefers that his players will face lightweight opposition before the upcoming World Cup, and says that his approach has been proved before.

Brazil national team played against the under-20 team of a Brazilian club and won 13-1 in one of the training matches Alberto Parreria arranged. The only international opposition Brazil faced lately was the United Arab Emirates, which they won 8-0, and Russia, where they won 1-0 under freezing conditions. Alberto Parreria thinks that the exercise is the most important thing.
