Rooney Not Playing for England Might Prove Crucial

England fans are very concerned with Wayne Rooney`s situation. According to Manchester United, the star player will not be able to play prior to June 14 when he will undergo another scan. This means that Rooney will probably miss the Groups stage of the upcoming World Cup. England has a strong team and will put up a fight against Sweden, Paraguay, and Trinidad and Tobago, its other Group A mates.

Paraguay and Sweden will make England`s struggle to conquer Group A`s first place hard. Rooney`s absence might prove crucial, because Group A`s second place winner is not a position England would like to be in. On Saturday the 24th of June, the second winner of Group B will face the first winner of Group A, which will probably mean Germany. Group A consists of Germany, Poland, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. Germany is clearly the favorite.

In case England faces Germany on June 24th without Rooney, chances are June 24 will be the last game for the England team. Germany is one of the favorites to win the entire tournament, and a weak England will have an extremely hard time beating the hosting team. Rooney`s absence might prove to be more crucial than estimated.
