Rooney World Cup Future Does Not Look Good

The Wayne Rooney soap opera continues. At first, we thought he could not play at all in the coming World Cup, then it was announced that he would be ready for England`s groups stage ? and now it seems that it will remain a surprise. Rooney was told that he shouldn`t disclose any information regarding his return for training.

Manchester United has released a statement saying that Rooney`s progress is satisfactory and that his recovery is doing well. Rooney will have to undergo another scan on June 14, and then we will know he soon can he start his training. The statement doesn?t say anything about the possibility that Rooney will join England at some point of the World Cup, and if so when.

The statement doesn?t disclose any information, but that fact that Rooney is staying at Manchester for future medical care and not going with the rest of England`s players to Germany doesn?t look good. Even if he will receive an `all clear` on June 14, he would barely make himself fit for a potential last 16-knockout game.
