Nets Win Over Phoenix And Looking Good
The nets defeat the Phoenix Suns 110-72, making it a 9 game win streak. Finally the team is living up to their elite Eastern Conference status placed on them at the beginning of the season, and things look good. The nets have also won their last five home matches, and now with a couple of weeks left in the season, New Jersey is gearing up for a strong postseason. The Nets are not stopping for nothing, not even for the critics.
So how do the Nets plan on keeping the other teams riding shotgun and themselves comfy on this ride to the postseason? Tempo and control: two points the Nets plan on using both sides of the ball. New Jersey ranks 3rd in the league in assists per turnover ratio (1.69) and also have held their opponents under to 85 points in seven out of their last nine games. And over the past month, the Nets are showing they are more than just an offensive minded team. It`s just another misgiving on a long list.
But the Nets are use to it by now. Line up the critics. Give a number to the naysayer. All season long, doubters have placed the Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat, and even the Indiana Pacers above the New Jersey Nets. It?s like the Nets have been the under card on a Don King promoted heavyweight fight. That was then, fifty some games ago when they where a shameful 9-12. Times have changed. New Jersey deserves the marquee. Then again, maybe this is what the Nets wanted all along. They?ve just been toying with NBA fans. They know the playoffs are a marathon, not a sprint. They know they are built for a series even though they can handle the one on one. And they know once the Playoffs start, this Nets team is going to be a migraine for some teams in the East.
