Houston Rockets Claim Timberwolves` Richie Frahm
Playing in his third NBA season, Frahm was not drafted into the NBA coming out of college. Portland signed him as a free agent on Sept. 30, 2002, but he was waived by the Trail Blazers on Oct. 23. For the following season Frahm signed with Seattle on Sept. 27, 2003, averaging 3.4 points in 54 games as a rookie with the Sonics. He was then selected by the Charlotte Bobcats in the NBA Expansion Draft on June 22, 2004, before signing as a free agent with Portland on July 15, 2004. Frahm finished his second NBA season with averages of 3.8 points and 1.4 rebounds in 43 contests with the Trail Blazers.
As a collegian, Frahm averaged 12.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists over four seasons at Gonzaga. He finished his career ranked third in school history in 3-pointers made (280) and fourth in scoring (1,621 points).
Currently Frahm has averaged 3.4 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 122 career games with the Seattle SuperSonics, Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota. In 2005-06, he averaged 2.6 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 25 games with the Timberwolves. Signed by Minnesota as a free agent on Sept. 26, Frahm scored a team-high 18 points vs. Portland (11/2) on 5-of-6 shooting from beyond the 3-point line. He played in the 100th game of his NBA career at the L.A. Clippers (11/5), and finished with 16 points (4-5 3FG) in a season-high 22:16 off the bench vs. Washington (11/17). Frahm was waived by Minnesota on Mar 16.
