Iverson Snubbed by USA Team

This week we have learned that the person who is in charged of assembling the US Olympic basketball team, Jerry Colangelo, has not extended an invitation to one of the leagues most prominent stars ? Allen Iverson. The news that he is not being selected for Team USA is stunning. Fear Iverson the rest of the year in the NBA, he will take this personally and raise his game and his teams.

In addition to being a former MVP, Iverson unlike many so called superstars has gone to the finals. Iverson, although it not always appreciated, has changed his game to the point where he dishes out 7 assists a game besides scoring 30 points. Iverson like Tim Duncan and LeBron James went last time when few other superstars did not go.

Leaving him off just doesn`t make total sense unless all the superstars are not to be selected too. Some people may say he shoots too much but he shoots about 45% and his team has about as good a record as Kobe Bryant and a far better record than Vince Carter`, Kevin Garnett`s, Stephon Marbury`s, Ray Allen`s team do.
