Davis Absence Seals Warriors Fate

Since moving to Golden State last season, Baron Davis has been relatively injury free. That is up until now. Without Davis in the lineup the Warriors have no shot of making it into the playoffs. In a season where pretty much nothing has gone right for Golden State, this is pretty much the final nail in the coffin. Currently, Warriors are only four games out, but that gap has been slowly widening for the last several weeks. With Baron out indefinitely, that small gap figures to become a gaping chasm.

Without BD running the point, the already floundering Golden State offense has ground to a screeching halt. There are critics out there who would rather blame Baron for the disappoint Warrior season than credit him for keeping it alive (on life support, but alive nonetheless). For all of Baron?s faults, there is nobody else on the team that can consistently create their own shot.

There is hope in young players on the team. Ike Diogu?s low post game brings versatility when it is working, and Monta Ellis? quickness can some day make him a potent offensive weapon. Essentially meaning that the only way the Warrior offense will improve is if two rookies quickly blossom.
