Ivory Coast Win Against Serbia & Montenegro

They played aggressively and proved to one of the best teams in Africa, but it was not enough against two soccer powerhouses like Argentina and Netherlands. Ivory Coast played their last game in this World Cup and beat Serbia & Montenegro 3 -2. Looking at their performance and skills, Ivory Coast could have easily made it to the next stage if it was playing in a different group. Group C was the hardest group of the tournament and Ivory Coast could not beat Argentina or Netherlands.

The game between Ivory Coast and Serbia & Montenegro proved to be the better match of the evening with Argentina and Netherlands playing with no goals. Aruna Dindane scored twice (one goal was a penalty) for the Africans, and Bonaventure Kalou took a penalty shot into Serbia`s net. The Serbs gave a worthy fight and conquered twice (Nikola Zigic, Sasa Ilic).

Serbia & Montenegro opened very strong and was the first to score, twice. Then Ivory Coast started pressuring and scored their three goals, making a great comeback. It is a shame to see such a team packing and leaving the tournament. Ivory Coast gave everything they have in this World Cup and hopefully, we will see them again in future tournaments.
