Barry Will Not Move to Newcastle, Villa Say

Although rumors are circulating, as rumors always do in the world of soccer, and indicate that Aston Villa might offer the multipurpose Gareth Barry to Newcastle, official statements from the team dismiss the possibility. It was first believed that Aston Villa will undergo an exchange deal for winger James Milner, but that is not going to happen soon.

Aston Villa did report that Newcastle expressed interest in their 25-year-old player. "I had a long chat with Graeme Souness when he was Newcastle boss and got the feeling he was ready to make a bid, but I would have told him to forget about it," said operations director for Aston Villa, Steve Stride.

The team will undergo extensive reshaping, with players leaving and new ones signing. It`s still un determine at what scope will the team change, but one thing is clear ? Barry will not leave Aston Villa to Newcastle, despite former news, based or not.
