Germany Beats Poland and Secures Second Stage

Germany just could not believe it was happening to its players. After more than six brilliant attacks and amazing goal making situations, the Germans were not able to make the crucial goal happen. Only after the official 90 minutes were over, Oliver Neuville scored the precious goal and placed Germany among the 16 teams that will play in the second stage of World Cup.

Poland gave Germany a very hard time with exceptional performance by their goalkeeper who managed to block all Germany`s offenses up to the 92nd minute. Poland played with 10 players alone starting from the 74th minute, after Radoslaw Sobolewski got his second yellow ticked and final the red one. Poland and Germany played rough as both teams needed to win.

Poland already lost to Ecuador 2-0, and with this lose to Germany they will not attend the second stage of the 2006 World Cup. Germany has guaranteed its place in the second stage, but will play Ecuador on June 20 for their final groups stage match. Poland will face Costa Rica on the same day for their last game in the tournament.
