Paraguay`s Goalkeeper Could Not Play In World Cup
Justo Villar, Paraguay`s goalkeeper, played only 7 minutes during Paraguay`s opening match against England, and those 7 minutes proves to be the last he will play on World Cup 2006. After a scan confirmed the extent of his leg injury, team officials decided that he will not play in Paraguay`s upcoming games, and that Paraguay`s second goalkeeper will take his place.
`It`s a five-centimeter tear, with a hematoma of more than 10 centimeters. It`s a serious injury,` said the team`s doctor. Paraguay`s second goalkeeper showed great skills against England`s attacks and will be perfect to accompany Paraguay in their upcoming matches. Paraguay is having a very bad start for their World Cup campaign and will need to get their act together if they want to make it to the second stage.
Paraguay will face Sweden on Thursday without another key player, Delio Toledo, who suffers from a thigh injury and will spend the next three days resting and will not train with the rest of the players. Sweden is considered a though rival, but with poor performance the Swedish players showed against Trinidad & Tobago, Paraguay could be less worried.
