Netherlands Gets Their 3 Points over Serbia & Montenegro

The second match of Group C was held on Sunday when Netherlands took Serbia & Montenegro 1 ? 0. Arjen Robben gave a brilliant performance and showed that he was clearly the best player of the orange team. Marco van Basten`s side showed that Netherlands has the ability to become a serious contender with patient build-up play with neat, quick passing.

Serbia & Montenegro showed exceptional defensive skills, but were not able to create enough goal threatening situations. Although Robben gave Serbia & Montenegro`s defense a hard time, Netherlands was able to score only one goal. Group C is considered to be the toughest group in the tournament with the surprisingly strong Ivory Coast and former world champions Argentina waiting for both teams.

Netherlands will face Argentina on June 21 on a game that many believe will bring the best soccer performance of both teams, and will surely be the main event of the first stage. Netherlands scored three very important points on their way to meet Argentina and Ivory Coast. Serbia & Montenegro will have to show better skills in order to mark a victory in this World Cup.
