Rooney Might Play Sooner Than Believed
Following England`s unsatisfying performance against Paraguay on Friday, there is a good chance that England fans will watch Wayne Rooney play sooner then they thought. Sven-Goran Eriksson, coach for the England team, does not rule out the possibility that Rooney will play a small part of England`s match against Trinidad and Tobago on June 15.
When asked about the possibility of Rooney playing Eriksson said "I`m very optimistic, always. I am born like that. We have to decide that day by day, to be honest." Rooney was given a green light just before the start of World Cup after undergoing a scan, but because Rooney has to train it was believed he will not be ready before the second stage of the tournament.
England won over Paraguay after an own goal made by Paraguay`s captain, and was not able to score during the entire game. England looked as if the team has no front men and Eriksson knows that. Rooney is currently training with the rest of the England team for the upcoming matches and when the 20-year-old player is `match-fit`, we will get to see him play.
