Germany Opens World Cup Storming Costa Rica

After so much anticipation and four long years, FIFA World Cup is finally here! More than 1 billion people were watching the opening match between Germany and Costa Rica on Friday, and boy what a game that was! The favorite Germany gave a brilliant performance beating the Central American team 4-2. Costa Rica took advantage of two defensive mistakes and conquered twice.

Although Costa Rica was able to surrender the German goalkeeper twice, Germany was clearly the better them of the green field. The game was packed with action, with three goals under 20 minutes of game. Germany scored first with a remarkable goal after 6 minutes alone, following by Costa Rica retaliation 6 minutes after the German goal. The hosts did not like Costa Rica`s response and on the 17th minute scored again.

The second half of the game was just as good with three more fantastic goals. Germany held the ball most of the time and had perfect control over the field. The European team is much better than the Central American one but nonetheless the show of both teams gave us a perfect opening for World Cup. Germany and Costa Rica both play in Group A and they will face Ecuador and Poland soon.
