Group C Opens Hard With Argentina Takes on Ivory Coast

Following two weak games by great teams, England`s weak 1-0 against Paraguay, and Sweden`s nil draw against Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina and Ivory Coast opened Group C with a brilliant game that gave us all a wonderful soccer experience. Ivory Coast gave the South Americans a hard time on their way to victory with a final score of 2-1 in favor of the once world champions. Javier Saviola and Hernan Crespo scored for Argentina, and Didier Drogba kept Ivory Coast in the game.

Argentina showed great skills, with a remarkable performance by Ayala who managed to control the Argentina box completely and stopped many of Ivory Coast roaring attacks. Argentina plays without their star kind Messi, and still showed that the team is solid and capable. Ivory Coast gave a great game against the better Argentina and did not give up even with a 2-goal disadvantage.

If the rest of the games in World Cup will be anything like what Group C has showed us, then we are in for a great tournament. The game was dynamic and both teams fought hard. There is still Holland and Serbia & Montenegro waiting tin Group C and we have much more in store.
