US World Cup Team Remains in the Dark
United States national soccer team coach, Bruce Arena, is keeping his hand close and doesn`t reveal the names of the players that will open on his team opening Group E match on June 12. Arena reported that all his squad received a clean bill of health but did not disclosed the names of the 11 players that will board the field first in Germany 2006.
The U.S team played a warm-up match against Angola and won 1-0 over fellow African finalists. The game was played behind closed doors and Arena doesn?t want to say anything about his World Cup team. "I don`t know the first 11," he said. "Angola was just practice," he said after a training session opened to the public. "Why should it be open? We don`t have the public facilities for people to be there. We`re playing with 15 players."
Arena commented about John O`Brien`s progress and said "O`Brien is doing fine." O`Brien was a crucial part of the U.S 2002 World Cup team that managed to the tournament`s quarter-finals. O`Brien suffers from injuries, but will play in the upcoming World Cup in Germany.
