Rooney Scan Moves One Week Forward
England key player, Wayne Rooney, will have his scan on June 7, one week before the previously scheduled June 14 scan. Rooney was reported as unfit for training until his June 14 scan sheds some light on his situation. Fans were worried that the scan might be too late and that Rooney will miss England`s entire Groups matches. Now we see that Rooney`s scan is moved forward a week, and there is a change that we will see the young star play in Germany sooner than we thought.
After a meeting between Sir Alex Ferguson, Sven-Goran Eriksson and the medical staff of both England and Manchester United it was decided that Rooney`s scan should take place on June 7, seven days prior to the original date. Rumors about Rooney`s fracture involving a joint are circulating, but no official conformation has been given by neither Man United nor Eriksson.
Eriksson insists that Rooney will play for his World Cup team in Germany, and disregard Ferguson`s concern. Eriksson wants Rooney to play as much as he can, and does not mind taking him to Germany if only for a few matches alone. FIFA rules are stating that Eriksson can make changes into his team until June 9, a day before their opening match against Paraguay. Rooney`s scan on June 7 will decide whether Rooney is a part of England`s team ? or not.
