Raiders Sign Huff
The Oakland Raiders signed first round pick Michael Huff for a five-year contract on Tuesday. According to the new contract, Huff will play for the Raiders for five years and will be paid $22.5 million for it. "This morning when everyone was out here I was just wishing I was out here," Huff said referring to the team`s practice. "But I`m out here now."
Huff made 318 tackles during is career, which ends with a 41-38 victory by the Longhorns over the unbeaten USC. The raiders are more than pleased to have Huff on their team. "He`s a very athletic guy, a very smart guy, you can give him a couple of different things, and he picks them up very well," Coach Art Shell said.
"We don`t see it as a problem. He can play free safety, he can play strong safety, he can play corner. He can do all those things. That`s a plus for us in the secondary." Although Huff will play as secondary, he has a good chance of making it to a starting role. "I`m comfortable with that because there are a lot of great experienced guys ahead of me that I can learn from," Huff said.
