Seattle SuperSonics Bought by Oklahoma City Group

The Seattle SuperSonics was bought by a business group from Oklahoma City and many fans are worried that the Sonics might be packing their bags and moving, but for now that move seems unlikely to happen. Business groups that show interest in NBA teams are doing so because they want a group in that particular market, and not because they want to move teams around.

Bennett, one of the group`s leaders, said on Tuesday that he hopes that the Sonics would succeed in Seattle for "decades to come," but indicated that the group will remain in Seattle only if an agreement for a new arena is formed. "Owning an NBA franchise and a world-class facility in this market is a good place to be," Bennett said. "That said, as you know, I certainly hope that in time, Oklahoma City gets a team and I think we will."

"I think everything`s on the table after that year, and if we run out of all our options, I`d love to have the team in Oklahoma City," Bennett said. The first objective seems to make the Sonics successful in their current place, but if Bennett realizes that it is hard as is ? he might want to try to move the team to Oklahoma and try their luck as Oklahoma`s home-team. "They didn`t look like they were pumped up," Mendoza said. "I think that they`re waiting for tomorrow. That`s going to be a real game."
