Schumacher Wins the French Grand Prix
Although Fernando Alonso is dominating this year`s F1 season, Michael Schumacher still believes he can make champion. And with the French Grand Prix behind us, it seems that Schumacher might be able to make it. The former world champion finished first and became the first-ever F1 driver that won the same race eight times in a row.
"We had a great start, being first and second," Schumacher said. "It was an excellent situation to start the race. The championship is far from over, and these two points we have made up on our main rivals are very important," Schumacher said. "I hope we can make up more ground."
Alonso finished 10 seconds after Schumacher and took the second place. "Given where I started on the grid, I think second is everything I could have hoped for because we knew that Michael was a bit quicker this weekend," Alonso said. "We won four consecutive races and hopefully this will happen again from the next race on."
